Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre
In response to global unrest and potential security threats, the Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre, located at 1641 Ouellette Ave, Windsor, ON, recognized the urgent need to enhance the security of their facility, which serves as a place of worship, community centre, and residence. To address this critical need, the Centre hired Windsor Window Imaging, a 3M authorized window film dealer with 25 years of professional experience, to implement a robust security solution in March 2024.
About the Project
The Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre, situated in a vibrant area of Windsor, Ontario, is a multifunctional building serving numerous community roles. With increasing security concerns globally, the Centre's management sought to reinforce the safety of their residents, staff, and visitors.
This led them to Windsor Window Imaging, a trusted local contractor known for their expertise in high-quality window security solutions. The primary focus was securing vulnerable points, specifically windows and doors, from external and internal threats.
The Solution
The security enhancement involved installing a 3M Ultra 800 security film coupled with 3M Impact Protection Adhesive (IPA) caulking. This solution was specifically chosen for its superior blast mitigation capabilities.
The film holds glass together under stress to help prevent injury from breaking glass and mitigate the risk of break-ins. The film also offers UV protection, significantly reducing UV exposure and prolonging the lifespan of interior furnishings, flooring, books, artwork, and other materials.

The Results
The installation covered approximately 650 square feet of glass surfaces across various entry points. Two professional installers completed it over three days. The project fortified external windows and doors and treated interior windows as an additional precaution.
The careful installation scheduling during quieter hours ensured minimal disruption to the Centre's daily activities. The comprehensive security upgrade has provided the community with peace of mind, knowing that people and property are better protected against potential threats.
